Technician Field Workbench

FIELD WORKSPACEWO Created / Awaiting Tech

Assigned Work Order: WO-2026-0047 • Asset: Tower 04 (Bearing Assembly B17)

Technician: Sarah Lin (Lead Specialist)

Why this inspection is required

Abnormal vibration velocity (7.80 mm/s) has deviated +17.8% from the historical operating baseline over the previous 36 hours. Bearing housing temperature has concurrently risen to 68°C.

What to inspect

  1. Bearing raceway condition & acoustic spalling check
  2. Radial & axial alignment runout (< 0.05 mm)
  3. Mounting bolt torque specification (280 Nm)
  4. Lubrication viscosity & thermal particulate audit
Governing Engineering ProcedureMP-B17-04 — Class B17 Bearing Inspection Protocol §4.2

Field Verification Checklist

Execute each item in accordance with SOP-MECH-07 safety rules.

4 CHECKS MANDATED
01.Bearing Race & Acoustic Condition

Inspect outer/inner raceway for micro-spalling, pitting, or acoustic frequency distortion.

02.Radial & Axial Alignment Check

Verify shaft alignment using precision dial gauge (tolerance < 0.05 mm).

03.Mounting Bolts & Harmonic Damper Torque

Verify all 8 mounting bolts meet 280 Nm torque specification.

04.Lubricant Quality & Seal Integrity

Inspect Mobilith SHC 220 grease for thermal discoloration and particulate contamination.

Field Findings & Corrective Action Log

Document physical observations and determine follow-up scheduling.
